Die a Identifiers

  1. Upper edge drops to the right above the L in SLOV. (In general, the right half of the upper edge slopes downward while the slope of the left half may differ.)
  2. Oblong white protrusion above OV in SLOV.
  3. Bulge on the upper edge above the horn's coil.
  4. Square rightward protrusion from the upper right corner.
  5. On nearly every specimen, a gap in the outline in the right side of the sheaf.
  6. White dot between the tip of the lower leaf and the top of the book.
  7. Gap near right end of middle shading line in the arched decoration found at the bottom center of the stamp. (May be found on other dies, but always appears on Die a.)
