Hradčany 80 Haléřü
23,710,000 imperforate 80h stamps were produced, but only about half -- 12,470,000 -- were released to the public. The first day of issue was April 22, 1919.
Printing Matrices
The first printing on April 17, 1919 of the 80h stamp coupled its plates with the plates of two different stamps, the 300h Hradčany and the 500h postage due. Since the printing press could only print in two colors -- half the matrix in one color, the other half in another color -- the 500h postage due and the 300h Hradčany were the same color: green. On May 2, 1919, the matrix held the same plates, but in a slightly different arrangement.
The third printing from may 27, 1919 to June 21, 1919, had a more typical layout.
