5h Full Pane
Although much of the philatelic literature indicates these stamps were printed from a single plate, it is likely that the matrix and two galvanized copies of it were used to print the 5h stamps. All three plates bore the same plate identifier: 28/1. Differences in the imprint of the stress bar and specific flaws and retouches to certain plate positions can be used to distinguish the three plates from one another. Plate II has a nick in the stress frame over Position 1, while Plate III's nick is over position 10. The only pane in the Knihtisk collection (its image is below) shows nicks over both positions. [At the moment, Knihtisk does not have sufficient information, nor does it have enough images, to identify and illustrate plate differences.]
The matrix was preserved in the Postal Museum; the two galvanized plates were not.
The 5h may have either Type A or Type B comb perforations.
